The newest Bleach chapter is out. So let's talk about it!
Spoilers after the cut.
So right when it looks like Hitsugaya is about the bite the dust from his own bankai being used by the Iron Cang Du, Urahara shows up to save the day.
Blegh.
I was already pretty sick of Urahara, Kubo's chief troll avatar. So this chapter doesn't endear him to me at all.
His reasoning of how to prevent bankai stealing and returning them to their rightful owners is a bit lacking, too.
Furthermore, I dispute the "lack of natural ability" the Quincy have to kill off hollows. There isn't a single hollow that would threaten the life of a Quincy, especially one with the kind of power the normal Stern Ritter has. Now, if they had to fight a Vasto Lorde, things might go differently. But they were all said to be hiding underground in Hueco Mundo, so that couldn't have been a concern.
One good thing about this chapter is that it gets away from the captains nobody cares about fighting enemies we couldn't possibly care about. But then again, all the talking was rather bothersome and it just opens the door for total Shinigami victory. With the Quincy unable to steal bankai, their biggest advantage over the Shinigami is now gone and it is likely that the Shinigami will have some giant ass-pull to wipe the floor with the Stern Ritter.
I don't think Bach or Haschwald will go down so easily. But they have no chance of killing all the Shinigami plus the others who are still in the human world by themselves. They do need the Stern Ritter to make the job easier. And it looks like Urahara has once again managed to foil the enemy. Yippie.
I guess we can look forward to Hitsugaya and Soi Fong winning their battles. Then maybe Kubo will move on to something a little more interesting.
