After a week off, there's a new Bleach chapter.
Spoilers, the sublime, and the ridiculous after the cut.
Fights involving Mayuri, even when they bog down into the muck as this one has, are always impressive in a masochistic way.
That is to say, I felt a bit masochistic while reading today's chapter. We've been down this road before and it's filled with the sublime and the ridiculous.
And boy, the ass-pulls. Mayuri just makes things appear out of thin air and there is no logic behind anything that's going on currently.
For instance, his bankai turns into a bigger version of itself that then gives birth to a monster that has the perfect counter to Pernida's already ridiculous nerve-based ability.
Sure! That makes plenty of sense!
If these fights weren't interminable (and let's face it, the week off sure as hell didn't help) they might be a bit more tolerable.
Then again, after seeing Mayuri fight three times previously, it's bloody obvious that we're not going to see anything new per se, unless you count "more ridiculous ass-pulls" as something new.
Also, I may have lost count of the total number of Mayuri fights. There's a lot of stupidity to keep track of in this manga.
