A new chapter of Bleach is out, so let's talk about it.
Spoilers and the "abyss of despair" after the cut.
Last week we were teased with the reveal of Captain-Commander Kyouraku's bankai.
So of course, the first page of chapter 648 shows the main character.
Wait, what? This manga has a main character that isn't part of Seireitei or the Vandenreich?
Despite his first appearance in...a while, it's just a cameo. He and Nakk le Varr are just standing around and might be fighting sometime in the future, but for now they're just noticing how Kyouraku's reiatsu is making the Wahrwelt look dark and bleak.
Exciting.
I hope this doesn't turn into one of those stupid "true despair" things like with Ulquiorra's Resureccion.
But the results so far look promising. Kyouraku's bankai utilizes three stages of attack that appear to be crippling Barro. If anybody can counter it, I would guess that either Bach or Haschwald could. Barro, on the other hand, looks screwed.
As usual, cliffhanger. Next week should be interesting; either Barro croaks or he figures out some kind of counter to knock Kyouraku off his game for a moment or two.
