Spoilers and general badassery after the cut.
The man is back.
True, he may still be wearing the eyepatch (to what purpose, I have no idea), but Kenpachi has now become "THE Kenpachi" after inheriting that title from the now-deceased Unohana.
What does this mean? Plotkai ahoy, apparently.
Now that he's "THE Kenpachi" he can cut anything in half, including fuckers that are stronger than the hardest steel. All this without having to resort to kendo, shikai, or even bankai.
This is why Kenpachi is the greatest character in the manga. His strength is so prodigious that he doesn't have to rely on the tricks that so many other characters use so shamelessly.
I look forward to seeing Kenpachi carve up Gremmy and then move on to other Stern Ritter. I hope he carves them up, too.
