Bleach 665 - The Princess Dissection

A new chapter of Bleach is out, so let's talk about it.

Spoilers and unnecessary surgery after the cut.

As the author avatar of the manga, it could reasonably be presumed that Urahara would have something particularly nasty for his bankai.  Even though Hyousube is thought to be the "strongest" shinigami (as head of the Royal Guard, this makes sense), he is not the person one thinks of as driving the story.

Urahara most definitely drives the story.  And his bankai is something, alright.

His power is "reconstruction", which he demonstrates by trying to split one of Nakk le Varr's arms.  Then after "duking it out" for a little while, we get a guest appearance by a guy who was left for dead a second time.

Grimmjow tears Nakk le Varr's heart out, coming back from what looked like utter defeat.  It is interesting that Urahara's bankai allowed such a ploy to work when Grimmjow's reiatsu should not have been able to damage Nakk le Varr (though I guess the change to Resurreccion form might have something to do with how Grimmjow can damage the Stern Ritter again).

I feel relatively certain that Nakk le Varr is not done just yet; this is Bleach after all, and nobody who looks dead stays dead.  Hell, Grimmjow looked dead twice and he's still kicking around.

And even though Urahara's bankai is an interesting sight to behold, it is still not much more than a distraction from the real fights that we want to see; the ones that involve the top brass of the Vandenreich.
