Bleach 577 - Blade

There's a new Bleach chapter out.  We're all talking about it.

Or are we?

Just kidding.  Spoilers and cleavers of meat after the cut.

Wow.

"Drink, Nozarashi".  And with that, the door is officially open to what could be the worst thing to ever happen to Bleach as a whole.

I've mentioned it previously, but I think it bears restating: if Kenpachi gains bankai and uses it, I'm out.  Finished.

At any rate, what we have here in the "Stern Ritter plays like he's Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII" battle is a little shit who duplicated himself before calling down the meteorite.

And Kenpachi, being the BAMF that he is, just released his zanpakutou and destroyed the fucking thing in one hit.

Nope, I'm not kidding.

Drink, Nozarashi.

Sure, seeing Kenpachi achieve shikai some 400+ chapters after seeing him attempt to communicate with his sword and fail is something.  Well, it's a testament to just how long Bleach has been running in WSJ.  That, and the story does eventually go places, but with so many damn characters and the general glacial pace, it really takes a long time for anything to get done.

Did Kenpachi really need to be more powerful?  It's not like he was a wimp previously (although losing to a clone of Bach was quite disconcerting).

Still, until he goes down the path of the weak and uses bankai as a crutch (like every other shinigami out there), it's hard to be too displeased.
