And here I thought things had gotten ridiculous in Bleach.
No, no, that wasn't ridiculous enough. Now we have Renji looking to succeed where TWO captains have failed. TWO!
Kensei and Rose brought out their bankai and still couldn't beat this utterly ridiculous luchador rip-off. So now Renji's going to beat him?
I mean, I can understand how this could play out. The luchador already took out his own eardrums, so he (supposedly) cannot hear the praise from other people that want him to win. That should cripple him. But there's no way Renji should be strong enough to take him out. It doesn't fit even this manga's sketchy logic.
All in all, despite showing Rose's bankai (which actually looked kinda cool, despite the questionable third act), this chapter was an utter failure. Although, one good thing is that we no longer have to wait for Renji to show up and do something. Now there are just Rukia and Ichigo to look out for.
