Bleach 562 - The Villain 2

The newest Bleach chapter is out.  So let's talk about it!

Spoilers after the cut.

While it looks like there's a twist coming, I think we can safely start closing the book on the luchador.  Honestly, this is one of the more annoying parts of the manga, especially this final arc.

Somehow, Renji is now untouchable by someone of the luchador's caliber. I'm not sure how this is possible.  I guess the training he received in the other realm paid off.  Or this is Kubo hacking away at the boundaries of the story he created.

Either way, this battle is pretty meaningless, other than the fact that two captains got taken out by a loser.  And now Rukia is reduced to being a healer, which should annoy a bunch of people.  Notably, I am not one of those people.  I don't think either one of those characters has a place in the battle to decide the end of the manga.

It is also notable that they are back in the Seireitei and Ichigo isn't.  We've had no mention of the main character for a few chapters now.  I'd like to think there's a reason for that, but knowing how the manga works (or doesn't, depending on the chapter), there probably isn't much of a reason besides stupid trolling.

It's funny to me that Renji is positing himself as a villain.  He wasn't much of one before, and it appeared as though the shinigami in sum were being painted as the heroes.  It is mostly unclear as there has been no explanation either way.  Then again, we still have no idea what Aizen's motives were, and he's been out of the story for years now.
