Bleach 590 - Marching Out the ZOMBIES

New Bleach chapter!  Let's talk, etc.

Spoilers after the cut.

Chapter 590 presents a quandary to the dedicated Bleach reader.

Do you remember these characters?

It's like Kubo is taunting all of us with these fools who we didn't suffer gladly and have now returned.  Hundreds of chapters have gone by, as well.  Plus, none of these four that have returned were really "important".  They weren't Espada.

Speaking of which, this chapter gives the reader a half-assed answer to a question that many of us have long wondered about.  When Captain Kurotsuchi's battle with the Octava Espada Szayel Apollo concluded, Kubo showed two bodies hanging in the lab of the Arrancar "scientist".

And now that we see that Dordonii and Cirucci are among those that Kurotsuchi has called upon, we finally have our answer.  Of course, being the depraved douche that he is, Kurotsuchi wasn't happy with just two; he also brought back Luppi, who was vaporized by Sextima Espada Grimmjow, and Charlotte Coolhorn, who was defeated in Fake Karakura by Yumichika, one of the shinigami whose arse Kurotsuchi is bailing out currently.

It is a tangled web that Kubo is weaving here, to be sure.

Of course, the worst of it is that none of this really matters.  Sure, it's interesting to finally find out what was in the lab (albeit indirectly) and what Kurotsuchi did with it, but this fight didn't have much of a point going in and is getting more pointless as it goes on.  Much like the initial chapters dealing with the Arrancar, this chapter is a distraction from what's really important to the story, namely Bach and his cohorts in the Soul King's realm.

Or Ichigo and co. on their way to fight Bach et al.

So chapter 590 is mildly interesting.  But not much more than that.
