Another day, another disappointment. The second round isn't going the way I thought it would.
First, Boston vs. Montreal.
And once again, Tuukka Rask is giving up goals in bunches. This time it was three (and an empty-netter than forestalled any attempt at a comeback).
I don't understand how this is the case, but then again, I'm still new to hockey. Maybe there's something going on that I'm not equipped to see.
Or maybe Rask just isn't that great against Montreal in a pressure situation.
That doesn't make sense, especially given the Canadiens' makeup. They're not a high-powered offense (like, say, Colorado or Chicago).
And Carey Price should be easy to figure out. Yet he only gave up two goals. Not the stellar performance that people want to call it, but certainly good enough.
Montreal leads 2-1. Game 4 is Thursday.
Last, Chicago vs. Minnesota.
Color me unsurprised that Chicago went to Minnesota and struggled.
What got me is that they gave up four goals, all in the third period. One of them was an empty-netter, sure, but that doesn't excuse giving up that many and getting shut out in the same game, by Bryzgalov no less.
Things are happening and I don't understand them. Like how Fleury and Bryzgalov are suddenly shutting out good teams.
Or how teams go into Minnesota and suddenly look like crap when before they'd looked spectacular. Ugh.
Chicago leads 2-1. Game 4 is Friday.
Later today, Game 4 in NYC.
